RIBA London Award Shortlist 2025

Lordship Park is the transformation of a Victorian home in North London by Emma Dahlman for Still Life Story, blending its original charm with a bold, minimalist brutalist extension. The design is inspired by tropical brutalism, modernist architecture, and Scandinavian influences, reinterpreting classic elements through a contemporary lens.

Contrasts define the space: restored cornices and period features sit alongside raw concrete and clean lines. Natural oak and linen bring warmth throughout, while large windows open the interior to a softly planted garden. A muted colour palette ties it all together, combining vintage classics with contemporary pieces for a layered home that seamlessly blends styles, materials, and eras. This reflects Emma’s quiet, textural approach.
