Brutalist-inspired living space featuring concrete textures, natural wood, and neutral tones, designed by Emma Dahlman for Still Life Story, a London interior design studio

Still Life Story by Emma Dahlman crafts warm, textural interiors inspired by nature, art, and raw materials. Blending old and new, each space is grounded in natural elements like stone, wood, and metal, with a focus on timeless design, layered simplicity, and details that evoke comfort, light, and quiet storytelling.

About

Founded by Emma Dahlman, Still Life Story is a London based interior design studio dedicated to creating timeless, characterful spaces. Born and raised in Sweden, Emma draws inspiration from the quiet narratives homes hold, whether rooted in a building’s history or shaped by the lives unfolding within.

With a background in retail design, Emma stepped away from fast paced, trend driven environments to focus on interiors that endure. She gravitates toward materials that age with grace and integrity, embracing contrast by combining rough and refined, old and new to create spaces that feel both unexpected and deeply comforting.

Influenced by her architect mother, Emma values craftsmanship, simple forms, and traditional techniques. Her work is serene, tactile, and light filled, offering a sense of calm, ease, and the quiet poetry of a well lived home.
